SARAH BOTTOMLEY 1827

Sarah Bottomley

This sampler was probably worked as a simple sewing exercise by a young girl. The naively attractive piece was originally stitched on approximately 30-count, as is our exact reproduction. A large central house is surrounded by a vining border with gold flowers. The frame on the original sampler was birdseye maple, painted with a green vine to duplicate the one stitched around the border.
