This New York Quaker sampler is beautiful in its simplicity and straightforwardness. Classic Quaker school-style needlework lettering, monochromatic, is surrounded by a delicate vining cross stitched border. Other stitches used in this exercise are four-sided, eyelet, and cross stitch over one thread. The original sampler, in the collection of THE SCARLET LETTER, measures 9 3/4" x 14 1/4". Our model is framed with hand-dyed silk ribbon and rosettes made by Madeleine Godnig of A Bed of Roses, available for an additional $20.
